Emirates has entered into an interline partnership with Bahamasair, the national flag carrier of The Bahamas, under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement aims to streamline travel for passengers connecting between the Emirates network and destinations across The Bahamas via Florida. The unilateral partnership enables Emirates customers arriving in Miami or Orlando to continue their journey to Nassau, Freeport, or San Salvador through connecting services operated by Bahamasair.

Travelers will benefit from the convenience of single-ticket itineraries covering both airlines and a generous baggage allowance across all segments of their journey. Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, described the agreement as a strategic move to extend the airline’s presence in the Caribbean region. He highlighted the advantages to customers, including seamless connectivity, competitive fare options, and simplified booking processes. The partnership also aligns with Emirates’ ongoing collaboration with The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support tourism growth in the Caribbean nation.

In parallel with passenger services, the MoU outlines a commitment to explore additional cooperation in cargo logistics and frequent flyer programme integration. These areas of potential collaboration aim to enhance operational synergies and deliver broader benefits for both carriers. Bahamasair’s Managing Director, Tracy Cooper, welcomed the agreement, noting that it marks a significant step in the airline’s international development. He emphasized that the partnership would bolster Bahamasair’s access to global markets and tap into Emirates’ extensive operational experience and reach.

Emirates currently operates daily flights to Miami and five weekly flights to Orlando, both key gateways for passengers transitioning to Bahamasair services. These Florida hubs are among the 12 destinations Emirates serves in the United States, supporting its global network of over 140 destinations. The interline partnership follows a separate agreement signed during the Arabian Travel Market between Emirates and The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

That MoU focuses on jointly promoting The Bahamas across Emirates’ international markets, reinforcing efforts to position the island nation as a premier destination for tourism and trade. This collaboration reflects a broader strategy by Emirates to enhance global connectivity and deliver added value to its passengers through targeted regional partnerships. – By MENA Newswire News Desk.
