DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / July 16, 2026: Dubai-based airline flydubai will introduce a second daily flight between Dubai and Bangkok beginning July 18, doubling the route’s capacity less than three weeks after its initial launch. The airline initiated daily flights from Dubai International Airport to Don Mueang International Airport on July 1, citing summer travel demand as a key driver for the rapid increase in flight frequency. The expanded flydubai Bangkok schedule will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International, offering two departures daily to Thailand’s capital and providing more options for both leisure and business travelers traveling between the United Arab Emirates and Southeast Asia.
This additional Bangkok flight, along with flydubai’s upgrade of Krabi services from four flights weekly to daily, will bring its Thailand operations to up to 21 flights per week. Bangkok is flydubai’s second destination in Thailand after Krabi and is part of a broader Southeast Asian route network that includes Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia. The route offers a direct connection to Don Mueang, one of Bangkok’s two main international airports, while also increasing seat availability during a period when airlines serving Thailand are expanding their schedules from the Gulf region.
Sudhir Sreedharan, flydubai’s divisional senior vice president of commercial operations, mentioned that the second daily flight is a response to strong initial demand for the new Bangkok route. He added that Don Mueang Airport provides convenient access to central Bangkok and that the additional frequency offers travelers greater flexibility during the busy summer season. The airline has not disclosed booking or passenger load figures for the route. Nonetheless, its schedule change from seven to 14 weekly flights marks a significant increase, making flydubai’s Bangkok service a larger part of its Thailand network from July 18.
The Bangkok flights are part of the codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates. Under this partnership, eligible passengers can book a single itinerary, check baggage through to their final destination, and connect within a network covering more than 240 destinations. The flights operate from Emirates’ Terminal 3 at Dubai International, facilitating connections through Dubai for travelers arriving from or heading to markets across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The schedule clearly indicates Don Mueang International Airport as the endpoint for both daily flights, ensuring a direct link between Dubai and Thailand’s capital.
Don Mueang Receives Extra Dubai Flights
Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Bangkok start at AED 12,000, while Economy Class Lite return fares begin at AED 2,600, according to flydubai. From Bangkok, return Business Class fares start at THB 91,000 and Economy Class Lite fares at THB 21,000. The airline noted that these routes are operated using Boeing 737 aircraft and highlighted recent cabin improvements across its fleet, including lie-flat seats on certain Business Class configurations, revamped Economy Class seating, meal services, and inflight entertainment on most aircraft. Published fares are subject to availability, booking rules, and travel dates selected by passengers.
The increase in flights comes as flydubai continues to expand its network and capacity. Recently, the airline launched services to Benghazi in Libya and is scheduled to commence flights to Aleppo in Syria on July 20 and Pokhara in Nepal on September 23. Currently, flydubai’s network includes over 140 destinations across 58 countries, operated with a fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft. Since its inception in June 2009, the airline has transported more than 137 million passengers and has introduced over 100 new routes that previously lacked direct Dubai links or service from a UAE national carrier.
Summer Travel Boom Spurs Schedule Expansion
For Bangkok, this rapid growth follows the launch of the initial daily service on July 1. Starting July 18, the new twice-daily schedule will bring the total to 14 weekly flights from Dubai to Bangkok, alongside seven weekly flights to Krabi, creating a 21-flight weekly Thailand network for flydubai. The additional flights can be booked via the airline’s website, mobile app, call center, travel agencies, and partners. With the schedule now confirmed, travelers can compare departure times, fare options, and onward connections through Dubai. This expansion also enhances the capacity of the Emirates codeshare network to Bangkok during the peak summer travel season, offering more options for passengers heading to Thailand from Dubai.
